From choosing the right ring to picking the perfect moment, this guide walks you through every step of planning a proposal to remember. Explore our tips on ring styles, sizing, budgeting, and creative ways to pop the question — so all you need to worry about is the moment itself.
Step 1: Budget
Choose a number that feels comfortable, not one that stretches you thin. There's no rule about "three months' wages" — just a good quality piece for what you're happy to spend. Tell us, and we'll design around it.
Step 2: Look for hints
Has she saved anything on Pinterest? Liked a photo on Instagram? What's on her camera roll? People drop hints more than they realise — you just have to pay attention. Bring whatever you've noticed and we'll help you turn it into something real. And if you've got nothing? Don't worry — that's what we're here for.
Step 3: Figure out the finger size
This one's tricky without giving the game away. If you can sneak away one of her existing rings, we can measure it. If not, a friend with similar hands can help. We'll usually size up slightly so the ring can be worn straight away — and resizing is always free and done in-house, often within a few hours.
Step 4: Choose a metal
Look at what she already wears. Mostly silver-toned jewellery points to white gold; mostly yellow points to yellow gold. Rose gold works well with either, and mixing metals is common too.
Step 5: Diamonds or colour?
Diamonds are the classic choice, but a coloured stone — sapphire, emerald, ruby, aquamarine — can feel more personal if she has a colour she loves. We work extensively with coloured stones if you want something different from the traditional route.
Step 6: The design
This is where it comes together. Whether you have a clear vision or a blank page, we'll work with you to create something that feels right. Bring in photos, sketches, ideas — or just come in for a conversation. Every ring we make is handcrafted in our workshop, so nothing is off the table.
Step 7: Aftercare
No warranties, no care plans, no ongoing fees. If we make it, we look after it — simple as that. Bring your ring in whenever you'd like it cleaned or checked and we'll take care of it. It's just good old-fashioned customer service.
